When it comes to decarbonization, Kenvue is guided by a simple but powerful principle—think globally, act locally. Each facility follows its own tailored roadmap, grounded in data, energy use, and the unique opportunities available in its market. By giving our sites the flexibility to develop their own plans, we’ve made our approach to renewable electricity practical and effective—built from the ground up.
To reach 100% renewable electricity in Latin America, the team used a mix of strategies across our three manufacturing sites, including combining direct power purchase agreements with wind-based generation, green retail contracts, and energy attribute certificates (EACs). A great example is our Cali, Colombia site, where an onsite solar system supplements a green retail contract to meet its entire electricity demand. Every decision was data-driven, enabling us to choose the most effective options for that location.
Our flexible approach lets facilities balance risks and opportunities. Some locations were able to quickly secure favorable renewable contracts, while others relied on EACs to ensure coverage. With each site customizing its approach, results were delivered ahead of schedule.
