Kenvue’s enterprise biodiversity assessment: key takeaways

At Kenvue, we believe human health depends on a healthy planet. In 2025, we completed our first enterprise-wide biodiversity assessment to better understand where our business depends on nature and where we can reduce our environmental footprint.

What the assessment covered

The assessment examined Kenvue’s operations and value chain, from ingredient sourcing and manufacturing to distribution and retail activities. Using geolocation data and globally recognized biodiversity datasets, we evaluated 41 sites worldwide to better understand how they interact with areas important for biodiversity and natural resources. We found that:

  • 16 Kenvue sites are in biodiversity-sensitive areas.
  • Some of those sites are also in areas facing water stress or climate-related risks.
  • Water supply and soil retention are key nature dependencies for operations.
  • Greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution are significant environmental impacts across the value chain.

These insights are helping us focus our efforts and better understand the connection between nature, climate, and business resilience.

Why nature, climate and water are linked

One of the clearest takeaways from the assessment was that biodiversity does not exist in isolation. Healthy ecosystems support water resources, strengthen resilience to climate impacts, and provide natural services that communities and businesses rely on every day. Understanding these connections helps us take a more integrated approach to sustainability and focus on actions that can deliver benefits across multiple areas.

Healthier outcomes: Turning insights into action

We are using the assessment to inform sourcing, operations, and local habitat initiatives, including certified fiber sourcing and biodiversity projects in Guelph, Ontario. In 2025, we achieved our goal of sourcing 100% of paper and wood-fiber packaging in our program from certified or verified recycled sources. We also continue to advance responsible palm oil sourcing by working with suppliers and industry partners to improve transparency and support more sustainable production practices. At our Guelph, Ontario, site, habitat enhancement projects and native species plantings have helped increase native plant diversity and support pollinator populations, showing how biodiversity stewardship can create positive impacts in the communities where we operate.

Looking ahead: protecting biodiversity

Our first biodiversity assessment marks an important step in deepening our understanding of how Kenvue interacts with the natural world. As we continue to integrate these insights into our Healthy Planet strategy, we will prioritize opportunities to strengthen ecosystems, support more responsible sourcing practices, and help build a healthier future for people, communities, and the planet.
